  1. Good evening ladies and gentlemen !

    It is yet another momentous evening brimming with ardent zeal to unravel the success stories of Mamta Modern School.

    It is my proud privilege to welcome you all once again to the Annual Day and Prize Distribution Ceremony of Mamta Modern School and present before this August gathering the report for the academic session 2015-2016.
  2. Felicitations:

    The radiance and significance of our programme is enhanced by the presence of our eminent guests.

    a. Our warmest felicitations go to our Chief Guest Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Adviser and Head, Department Of Science and Technology, Government of India. Sir, we wish to express our humble gratitude to you for having spared time to grace the occasion with your benign presence. We welcome you. 

    b. I also extend a very warm welcome to Mrs. Usha Saini, Deputy Director-Education, Zone-18, District West-B. Ma’am! Mamta Modern is indeed honoured by your noble presence at it’s Annual Day Programme. 

    c. I am extremely elated to have amongst us Mr. Bhagwan Dass Wadhwa, Deputy Education Officer, Zone-18, District West-B. 

    d. A hearty welcome to all our members of the Managing Committee, Chairmen, Managers, Colleague Principals and other distinguished guests and my dear parents.

    e. Today, the entire MMS family fondly remembers our founder Late Shri S. K. Sharma Sir, whose legacy we have inherited and whose vision always guides us on our journey, the journey of MMS.

  3. Academics

    Our academic results illustrate the amalgamation of patience, dedication and perspiration leading to the unbeatable success attained by our students.

    In class X, a perfect score of CGPA 10 was scored by Sooraj Phool followed by Amisha Sharma, Nishtha Lamba, Urja Gulati, Harjot Singh Saggu, Harsh Dhawan, Ritika Pathak and Shana Sati.

    In class XII Examinations, Anirudh Sharma topped followed by Rakshita Saini, Komal Rani and Tushar Gupta. The students made us very proud by scoring more than 300 distinctions and my heart swells with pride to share with you all that more than fifty students scored 90 in various subjects. 

    Another golden leaf was added as 117 out of 137 students secured First Divisions this year for which my teachers and students received a letter of appreciation from the HRD Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani. Kudos!!
    I congratulate these teachers from the bottom of my heart. 
  4. Co-Scholastic activities:

    Each child is a reservoir of innate capabilities and immense potential. By providing a conducive and encouraging environment, the learners are mentored to participate in a variety of intra and inter school activities/competitions.

    Our accomplishments in the sphere of Co-curricular activities occupy a place of pride in my heart. And now ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to handhold you and take you on a remarkable journey of various awards and accolades won by us. 

    a) In the Inter Zonal Level Competition, Mritunjay and Sanyam Batra of class VIII remained unbeaten at the First Position in the English Debate Competition. 

    b) V. Saradhyuti of Class VII and Jagriti Verma of Class X ranked first in the Solo Classical Dance competitions while our Folk Song Senior Team also bagged the first prize at the Inter Zonal Level.

    c) At the Zonal Level Arushi Rawat of Class VI stood First in the Hindi Declamation and Mritunjay and Sanyam Batra both from class VIII got the first position in English Debate Competition. 

    d) In the Paper Mache Compeition, Aryan Bisayia of class XII stood First.

    e) Hitanksha, Sarthak Rajkunwar, Shivam Kapoor, Dev Maggo and Mrityunjay stood Second in the Hindi Poem, Punjabi Poem, Hindi Debate, Hindi Extempore and English Poem Recitation Competitions respectively. 

    f) Mehul, Ujjwal, Sanchit, Vaibhav, Kush and Naman won the Second Prize in the Sanskrit Poem Recitation Competition. 

    g) Aditi Malhotra, Hitanksha and Vashita all from class XII stood Third in the English Declamation and English Debate Competitions repectively. 

    h) Sukhpreet Kaur of class XII and Ankur Gupta of class X won a Consolation Prize in the Punjabi Poem Recitation and English Poem Recitation respectively. 
  5. Music and Dance

    Dance and Music are the inner languages of the man’s most primitive and eternal desires and feelings. Our students have created magic with their spellbound dance numbers and trained vocal chords by winning numerous accolades.

    Our budding dancers, choir group and vocalists have done wonders at the Zonal Level by bagging various positions in the Folk Song, Folk Dance, Solo Classical Dance, Classical, Semi-Classical, Light Music and Patriotic Song category.

    All this has become possible only because of the hard work and dedication of our dear teachers. They surely need a big round of applause.

    Sanskrit Academy
    To play with Sanskrit words is an art and our school nurtures the students so beautifully that they learn how to play with Sanskrit words effortlessly.

    At various competitions organized by the Sanskrit Academy this year too, my students won various prizes and a total cash prize of Rs. 6200/- in various competitions.

    Can I request you all to give a big hand to Mrs. Naseem and Mrs. Surekha for preparing these students so dedicatedly?
  6. Science

    Science, the child of many a charged brains, has effortlessly woven its way into our lives. An insightful understanding of the latest technology in science is the need of the hour and our constant endeavour. 

    a) At the Regional Level Science Exhibition organized by the CBSE, both the school exhibits ranked first amongst all the exhibits of Delhi and were selected to participate in the CBSE National Levels.

    Cheers for the commendable performance!

    b) In the National Children Science Congress Junior category, our students won the First Prize at the Zonal Level, First Prize at the Central Level and were selected to participate at the State Level.

    While our Senior Category won the First Prize at the Zonal Level, First Prize at the Central Level and Dear Audience! the First Prize at the State Level and is now selected for the National Level to be held in Mohali.

    c) At the Science Fair organized by the Directorate of Education, out of the 9 models, 5 were selected at the Zonal Level to participate further at the Central Level where they remained unbeaten and are now selected to participate at the State Level Science Exhibition. 

    d) At the Zonal Level Aditi Malhotra, Aryan Bisaiya, Jessica Gupta and Neha Kumari bagged the first position in the Science Debate, Scientoon, Poster Making and Slogan writing competitions and went on to participate in the Central Level where again our students (Aditi Malhotra, Aryan Bisaiya and Neha Kumari )were selected for the State Level.

  7. Synergetic for Sports

    Sports and Education go hand in hand in Mamta Modern School. The winning spree of students remains unabated as our young champs won accolades at various levels. Our proud achievements in various categories speak about our dedication and commitment to sports.

    a) In the Inter-Zonal Softball Category, Tushar Barnawar and Yasharth of class IX bagged the First Position.

    b) In the Inter-Zonal Baseball, Tanvi Thapliyal of Class XII stood First in the U-19 category while our U-19 boys team stood Second. 

    c) In the Zonals, Sapna Goyal of class XII, Sanya Kapoor of class VI and Prabhat of class V won prizes in Skating.

    d) Mantosh Das of class IX, Mayank Rohilla of Class X and Bhavya of Class VII won prizes in Yoga.

    e) We are also the proud winners of 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 9 Bronze Medals in the Zonal Athletics in Junior and Senior category. 

    f) In the sub-junior Athletic Meet, my school won the Athletics Championship by lifting 10 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze medals. 

    Kudos to You my Little Champs!!

    g) I would fail in my duties, if I don’t mention that Rajiv Gandhi of Class XI participated in the International Baseball games held at Australia and Kuldeep Singh of Class XI played at the School National Softball Championship held at Rajasthan. 
  8. BasketBall

    Our stars in the basketball court are also not lagging behind. They have been scoring victory and claiming glory with an enviable consistency.

    1. Joshika of class XII represented India in the Adelaide Pacific International School Games, Australia.

    2. Bharti Gupta of XI and Mansi Tyagi of class X played at the School National Basketball Championship held at Bhav Nagar (Gujarat).

    3. Tanvi Thapliyal of Class XII participated in the Basketball School Nationals held at Ranchi. 

    4. In the Zonal Competition, our U-19 and U-17 teams stood First while the U-14 team was the proud recipient of the Second Position.

    5. In the Basketball Tournament organized at Ramjas School, our U-19 Team bagged the Third Position.

    Can my worthy guests clap for the commendable performance of my students?
  9. Football

    1.Our footballers are filled with unwavering spirit teeming with enthusiasm and energy and have discovered what is far beyond the obvious.

    2.Like the much acclaimed Brazil and French Football Teams that have made their mark at the International Level, our MMS Football Team has also carved a niche in the Football Competition at the school Level all over India. Whenever anyone talks about the school Football Team, the name of MMS shines like a polestar. The rich legacy of the school was brought to the fore as ours is the only school in Delhi which has ever won the Subroto Cup. 

    The radiance and significance of our Football Team is further enhanced with the name of the Indian Football Captain, MR. Sunil Chhetri, who is an aluminus OF YOUR OWN SCHOOL MAMTA MODERN. 

    3.Laurels were gathered in abundance by our budding footballers on the ground, throughout the year. They not only gave ample demonstration of the football prowess, but also put the school in the league of serious contenders. 

    4.In the CBSE National Football Championship (2015-16) held at Thane, Mumbai, our school U-19 Football Team emerged as a winner among the 32 participant teams from India and abroad. In this Championship, Tarun Mehra of class XI was declared the Best Goal Keeper while the medal for the Best Striker was won by Mayank Deswal of class XI. It gives me immense pride to share with you all that our Football Coach Mr. Pratap bagged the title of the Best Coach in the Tournament.

    Audience! I think our dear Pratap Sir and his team need a big round of applause.

    5.Like the previous year, this year too in the CBSE Cluster XII Football Tournament, our U-19 Team remained the winner undaunted.

    6.My heart swells with pride to tell you that in the 55th Pre Subroto Cup Football Tournament 2015-16, both our U-14 and U-17 teams emerged as winners. Both these teams represented Delhi in this prestigious Tournament. 

    7.Out of the 128 teams from all over Delhi that participated in the First Stairs School Football League, MMS bagged the first Position. 

    8.In the All India Open Football Tournament held at Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, MMS lifted the runners up trophy and a Cash Prize of 41000/-

    The clappings should not stop Audience.

    9.The U-14 team won a cash prize of 25000/- in the Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament being one of the Best 8 teams in the country.

    10.Aditya Nath and Roshan both from Class XII and Nishchay Adhikari and Himanshu Rai from Class IX participated in the Football School National’s held at Srinagar and Assam respectively.

    11.Akhil Rawat of Class X and Aniket Singh of class XI participated in the U-15 Coca Cola Football National’s held at SunderNagar(H.P).

    12.Dear friends, history has been repeated once again as at the Zonal Level, my U-14, U-17 and U-19 teams have lifted all the prizes this year too from Zone-18. 

    Audience, my footballers need a thunderous applause. The list is unending.

    13.Our Star Footballers have been scoring victory not only at the homeland but at the International Level also. Aniket Singh Thakur of class 11 participated in the U-17 North Limborg Cup Football Tournament held at Netherland in June 2015. 

    While Mayank Deswal participated in the Bajaj Allianz Junior Football Camp 2015- Season 6 held at Gemany.

    14.Aditya Nath of class XII was selected as the captain of the football team in the international school football tournament held at Australia.

    15.Last but not the least; it was a proud moment for MMS as only today morning our U-19 Football Team was felicitated by the Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal for its commendable performance in the National Football Tournament. Mr. Kejriwal had a detailed interactive session with our budding football stars who made their presence felt after winning the school nationals in the Mumbai grounds recently.

    Don’t you think so many laurels in football call for big hand for our coaches Pratap Sir, Rawat Sir and our football champions. I cannot hear the sound of your claps. Friends, the clappings should not stop.
  10. Expression Series:

    This year CBSE, under the guidance of HRD Minister, has taken an initiative and started the Expression Series. It is an ingenious dais which aims at show casing the manifold genius of our students. 

    The accomplishments in the expression series occupy a place of pride in my heart. In every series, lakhs of students from all over India participate and only 36 are selected. This year too, CBSE conducted various series based on the famous personalities of India. 

    Dear Parents I am delighted to inform you that in every series we manage to grab at least one prize and my students have managed to sweep 17 prizes in all and a total cash prize of Rs. 42500/-.

    Don’t you all feel that my teachers need a round of applause for guiding these students?
  11. Inter School Accolades

    1. In the Inter School Competitions organized by Bosco Public School, Sukhmani Kaur won the First Prize in T-Shirt Designing.

    2. Hitanksha remained a winner undaunted among all the schools of Delhi in the Declamation Contest organized by the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) and won a cash prize of 3000/-. 

    3. I also feel elated to share with you that our students stood first in the On the Spot One Act Play competition organized by New Era Public School.

    4. In the Inter School Debate Competition organized by Adarsh Public School, Mrityunjay of class VIII won the First Prize and 1500/- in the Best Speaker Category.

    5. In the Inter School Competitions organized by Shah International, our students won various prizes in the Nukkad Natak, Classical Dance, Sanskrit Quawalli, Footwear Adornment and Dress Mantra Categories respectively.

    6. I also want to share with you that in the Inter School Event organized by Mount Abu Public School, our students proved their mettle once again by winning various prizes in different categories.

    7. In the Painting Competition organized by Mother Divine School, Parminder of class IV won 1100/- as a the third prize and Priyam Vats of class II and Neha Kumari of Class V won prizes in the Painting Competition organized by St. Marks School. 

    8. Sushain of Class VIII was a proud recipient of tab 3 Neo in Think and Learn Challenge organized by Times of India.

  12. Shri S.K. Sharma Memorial Football and Basketball Tournament

    Every year, we organize the Shri S.K. Sharma Memorial Football and Basketball Tournament in the fond memory of our revered Sharma Sir. 

    This year too 28 football teams participated in this tournament from all over India. Our U-19 Football and U-19 Basketball teams were the Winners undaunted. 
  13. Sharing and Caring:

    The essence of education is also to harbor feeling of love and compassion for those who are less fortunate than us and that’s what we as a school precisely aim at – The Feeling of Oneness with everyone or the need to share with those who are in want. This year, along with pledging to celebrate a cracker free Diwali, our students distributed eatables and blankets approximately worth Rs. 40,000/- to the various slums in and around Vikas Puri.
  14. Celebrating Various Days

    1. Each day is a celebration of life in all its magnificent and splendor at MMS. 

    The Year gone by witnessed momentous, eventful celebrations. In a ceremony conducted by the CBSE to honor the teachers from across the country, our students got the opportunity to welcome and interact with the HRD Minister Mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani. 

    2. 75 students were part of the Mega Event conducted on International Day for Yoga initiated by our Honourable PM Mr. Narender Modi. 

    3. The students got a chance to participate in the Dengue Drive Campaign organized by MCD, Cleanliness Drive launched by our CM Mr. Kejriwal, National Conference on ICT in School Education held at Vigyan Bhawan organized by MHRD, Government of India and the Anti-Crackers Rally.
  15. Conclusion

    Education has many tasks – widening the mind, enlarging its interests and teaching the techniques on which modern civilization is based.

    Despite its ups and downs, the school has been marching ahead on the path of success. We promise to constantly upgrade our skills and take up new challenges in a bid to provide another rewarding year of education to children.

    1. The achievements and accolades that we possess are the results of the unflinching support and commitment of our Chairman Mr. Y.P. Purang. I thank him from the bottom of my heart.

    2. I express my deep gratitude to our Vice Chairman Mr. R.S. Sharma for his continuous guidance at every step we take.

    3. I take this opportunity to thank our Manager, Mr. Manoj Sharma whose great vision transforms our dreams into reality.

    4. I also thank my all learned colleagues and support staff who whole heartedly share the school’s vision and total commitment of scaling heights of excellence in every task undertaken.

    5. I also thank you Dear Parents for your constant support and trust in us.

    6. A huge round of applause to my dear students and my hardworking and dedicated teachers. Parents Kindly clap for them. Because they are the reasons and the means for all our delight and accomplishments.

    7. Last but not the least, I thank the Almighty for having made all this possible. 

    My heart swells with joy in this defining moment and tonight I stand before you with both humility and pride as I conclude with this motivating poem -
